Shared hosting

A Virtual Private Server divides physical infrastructure into virtual environments with allocated resources. Dedicated servers

Dedicated hosting assigns a physical server to one customer. It offers strong isolation, extensive configuration options and predictable access to the machine’s resources. It can suit demanding applications, large datasets or workloads with special compliance, networking or software requirements.

A dedicated server is not automatically faster for every website. It still needs correct sizing, maintenance, monitoring and application design. A poorly configured dedicated machine can underperform a smaller, well-managed platform.

Semi-Dedicated hosting

Semi-Dedicated hosting commonly sits between shared hosting and a VPS. The platform hosts fewer accounts or provides higher, more strictly controlled resource limits while the provider continues to manage the server. The term has no universal technical definition. Compare actual CPU, memory, I/O, process limits and support scope rather than relying on the product label alone.

Managed hosting and Managed WordPress

Managed hosting describes a service level rather than one hardware model. Depending on the plan, the provider may handle operating-system maintenance, security, monitoring, backups or platform updates. Managed service can be delivered on shared, VPS, cloud or dedicated infrastructure.

Managed WordPress applies that approach to an environment tailored for WordPress, often with caching, staging and specialist support. It is useful when a team wants to focus on the website rather than server operations. Always verify what “managed” includes, because the term varies by provider.

  • Small company site or portfolio: managed shared hosting is often sufficient.
  • Blog or established WordPress site: shared or Managed WordPress, depending on support needs.
  • Growing WooCommerce store: capable shared, Semi-Dedicated, managed cloud or VPS with adequate PHP and database resources.
  • Custom application: VPS or cloud when custom services and deployment control are required.
  • Heavy or specialized workload: dedicated or an appropriately designed cloud architecture after measurement.
