From November 1, 2026, Verisign, the company that manages the .com registry, will increase the wholesale price for registering and renewing these domain names. This change affects the cost that the registry charges registrars worldwide.

If you own a .com or plan to register a new one, you can schedule your purchase or renewal in advance before the price increase takes effect.

What changes in the price of .com domains?

According to Verisign's official announcement, the annual wholesale fee for .com registrations and renewals will increase by approximately 7%.

This percentage refers to the registry fee. The final retail price adjustment is determined by each provider, taking into account other charges, operating costs, and the services offered.

Does this affect an already active .com?

The increase does not create any additional charge for the period you have already paid for. Your domain remains active until its expiration date.

The new pricing will apply when you make your next purchase or renewal, provided that your provider has implemented the new price list by then.

Can I renew before expiration?

You don’t need to wait until the expiration date approaches. You can renew your .com earlier, adding time to the existing registration period without losing the remaining time you have already paid for.

Renewing early before the new prices take effect allows you to secure additional duration at the price valid at the time of the transaction.

For greater cost predictability, you can also choose to renew for multiple years, within the allowed domain duration limits.
